Courtyard Renovation
Here are some photos from a recent courtyard renovation in Wollstonecraft.
After pouring a concrete slab we used large format 600 x 300 mm basalt tiles to give the perception of a larger space.
Besser blocks reinforced with steel and core-filled with concrete were used as a border and to retain soil in garden beds. Spotted gum decking timber was used to build a seat and storage area and also helped to soften all the hard surfaces.
It all came together for a great looking courtyard!

A retaining wall with challenging access
Pictures of a challenging job completed last month. We replaced this series of failed retaining walls on a sandstone cliff face in a Mosman backyard. The stand out feature is a dry river bed, making use of excavated sandstone rubble to provide drainage.
Our client later planted these garden beds out with Westringa fruticosa, a hardy drought tolerant native that need very little care or maintenance.
